Safety Comes First

Safeguarding

We want every person who trains, competes, or visits to be treated with dignity and to feel safe, respected, and welcome.

Our Commitment

A Safe Place to Learn

Charles Michael Sports Hub is committed to safeguarding children and adults at risk from abuse, neglect, bullying, discrimination, and avoidable harm. Everyone involved in our activities shares responsibility for maintaining safe and respectful conduct.

Expected conduct

  • Use respectful, age-appropriate language and behaviour.
  • Do not use physical punishment, humiliation, intimidation, or bullying.
  • Respect personal boundaries and obtain appropriate consent before physical assistance.
  • Raise safety concerns promptly and take them seriously.

Working with young people

  • Keep interactions open, appropriate, and focused on training.
  • Use official channels for communication about young athletes.
  • Do not take or share a child's image or personal information without appropriate permission.
  • Follow agreed sign-in, collection, and supervision arrangements.

Reporting a Concern

If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services first. Otherwise, report concerns to the CMSH safeguarding lead as soon as possible. Do not promise secrecy; share information only with people who need it to help keep someone safe.

The safeguarding lead's name, verified contact details, reporting procedure, and escalation contacts must be added before this policy is relied on operationally. Until then, contact details are not available on this page.

Policy Review

This page sets out our safeguarding commitment and is not a substitute for a complete, approved safeguarding procedure. CMSH should review it with the safeguarding lead and relevant Kenyan authorities or qualified advisers, and update it when procedures or applicable requirements change.
